3 Egg Nog Recipes for the Holiday Season

egg nog

No holiday party is complete without a little egg nog to sip on.  This frothy, eggy beverage can be traced all the way back to medieval England where once it was an egg-based wine or ale mixture.  But now, a traditional recipe calls for eggs, milk, heavy cream, bourbon or rum, and a little nutmeg garnish.  So easy you can make it right at home!  Here are a few of my favorite variations – I even through in a recipe for Coquito.  Because who doesn’t like a little coconut, Puerto Rican flair!  Cheers to the holidays!

It’s Vodka Day!

October 4th, 2019

Vodka is a diminutive of the Russian word voda.  And voda means water.  So basically the Russians are saying that vodka goes down like water, it’s clear like water, and may even be healthy like water? Sure! Some people say a jig a day keeps the doctor away!

The Honey Deuce

The US Open is in full swing and we invite you to make and partake in the tournament’s official cocktail with us: the Grey Goose Honey Deuce.

It’s a little bit sweet, a little bit crisp, and 100 perfect refreshing, this sporty libation is comprised of Grey Goose vodka, lemonade, and raspberry liqueur, accented with the ultimate garnish – tennis-inspired honeydew melon balls.

Happy Tequila Day!

One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor!  Enjoy this national holiday with some refreshing tequila cocktails concocted with fresh ingredients instead of that awful margarita mix.  Because, you’re better than that!  My favorite?  The Jalapeño Pineapple Margarita – the perfect amount of sweet and spicy! Here are my top 5 favorites.  Enjoy!

Daiquiri Day!

Daiquiri Day!

July 19th, 2019

It’s National Daiquiri Day!

If you have been smashing Daiquiris at your local beach bar, you are probably used to the popular frozen cocktail mixed with limeades, sweeteners, and other mixers.  A refreshing cocktail, packed with sugar that is NOT a true Daiquiri. The Classic Daiquiri is actually a simple rum-based cocktail that has been altered in so many ways over the past years that most people don’t even know what the true recipe actually contains – rum, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup.

National Doughnut Day

June 7, 2019

Summer Fridays are simply the best – especially when the office celebrates National Doughnut Day and we have the pleasure of starting off our work day with a tasty treat!  The business of doughnuts is booming and now people are flocking to shops that offer hand-crafted, freshly made-to-order doughnuts that range from coconut-pineapple to salted caramel walnut.  My favorite doughnut shop of all time? Broad Street Dough Company in Oakhurst, New Jersey!

World Paloma Day

May 22nd is the day to celebrate the Paloma – A traditional Mexican cocktail made with tequila and grapefruit soda.  This cocktail is refreshing, light, bubbly, and perfect for the summertime.  Below are two different recipes for a Paloma.  The first recipe is a more traditional Paloma made with tequila and grapefruit soda. The second recipe substitutes mezcal for tequila, and fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice and club soda for the grapefruit soda. It also adds an element of heat with the chile piquin rimmed glass.  Enjoy both of these summer cocktails!
