Featuring a Taqueria and Craft Beer Station

7-Eleven unveiled a “Lab Store” in Dallas, Texas this month that features a Taqueria, craft beer refilling station, indoor and outdoor seating, and streamlined their checkout process by allowing customers to pay on their iPhone.  7-Eleven officials claim that this store is “experimental testing ground” but we all hope for success and more “Lab Stores” to open up country-wide.

Beer and Pizza

A Match Made in Super Bowl Heaven

National Beer Can Appreciation Day!

Today celebrates the historic moment when beer cans were introduced to the market.  January 24th, 1935 marks this day in history. The Gottfried Krueger Brewing Company teamed up with the American Can Company and delivered 2,000 cans of their finest beer and Cream Ale to their customers in Richmond, Virginia.  Since the canned beer was so widely received, they decided to go ahead with production.  In three months, over 80% of all distributors were selling Krueger’s beer.  By the end of that year, over 200 million cans were produced and sold!

NJ Craft Breweries – No Fun for You!

The New Jersey Division of Alcohol beverage Control just slapped a “special ruling’ (of new regulations) on the 88 New Jersey’s craft breweries and people are not happy about it.  The state is now controlling what brewery owners are allowed to do in terms of events, food, and private parties.

Recycle the Empties, or No Beer For You!

Germany’s Shortage of Beer Bottles

In Germany, preserving the environment is just as important as drinking beer.  So please, bring your bottles back to the brewery where you received them!  In Germany there are about 4 billion beer bottles in circulation that usually get filled up about 30 times in their lifespan thanks to recycling!  When patrons go to the local convenience store or brewery, they pay a small deposit on each bottle that they purchase.  When the bottles are brought back to the store, they get their deposit back!  The problem is, with the heightened consumption of beer, and lack of empties being brought back, Germany is running out of beer bottles!
