August 25, 2019

It’s that time of year – National Whiskey Sour Day!  So, let us celebrate with a classic recipe that has been tampered with so many times over the years that no one actually knows what the true cocktail even contains!

A true whiskey sour is very easy to make, and extremely satisfying.  Toss the sour mix and low-quality whiskey…this cocktail is all about enjoying your favorite whiskey and using simple ingredients to compliment the whiskey’s sweetness.  All you need is lemon, simple syrup, and egg white.  Super simple, super delicious, and timeless.

Here’s a recipe for a classic Whiskey Sour for you to celebrate with:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 ounces whiskey
  • 1 1/2 ounces lemon juice (fresh)
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • Optional: egg white
  • Garnish: maraschino cherry or lemon peel

Directions: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled glass.  Add a maraschino cherry or lemon peel so garnish and voila – you have yourself a timeless Whiskey Sour!

Cheers,

Danyelle

I travel far and wide for a good IPA, I can get down with a good Manhattan, and home is where the wine is. If my taste buds are pleased, you’ll know about it. Oh, and I like to lift. So, enjoy my fitness journey with a glass of wine.
