Kegs & Legs

Surprise: I love beer! But despite my love for beer, one thing you may not know about me is that I’m very passionate about working out and helping others to reach their fitness goals. This being said, you can probably imagine how elated I was when I was able to merge both of my loves together at my latest visit to Cypress Brewing Company.

I’d like to thank Charlie Backmann, owner and brewer of Cypress Brewing Company in Edison, NJ for letting me perform and record my first keg workout at his fantastic brewery.  I even got to indulge in some fantastic brews afterwards – and who doesn’t love that?

The benefits of training with kegs are endless!  Whether you have an empty, full, or partially full keg, the workouts will be intense! The odd shape of a keg makes training more challenging because it forces you to focus on stabilization.  And, keg workouts have been scientifically proven to build strength and conditioning in athletes and strongmen while offering an unconventional way of doing it.

So, without further ado, I hope you enjoy my keg workout!

Meet me at the bar. Whether it’s barbells, whiskey libraries, rum sanctuaries, or craft breweries…I’ll see you there. I travel far and wide for a good IPA, I can get down with a good Manhattan, and home is where the wine is. If my taste buds are pleased, you’ll know about it. Oh, and I like to lift. So, enjoy my fitness journey with a glass of wine.
