A Review: Stout Beard Brewing Company

I recently had the pleasure of grabbing a flight at Stout Beard Brewing Company while on my way to see a show at the Westcott Theater. Stout Beard Brewing Company is located in the Westcott neighborhood of Syracuse, NY. Its proximity to the university makes for a diverse community: home to professors, students, and residents of all income levels. Westcott holds an annual cultural fair celebrating the diversity and uniqueness of the neighborhood with food, art, live performances and cultural activities.

Stout Beard Brewing Co. is nestled off Westcott Street with ample off-street parking in addition to EV chargers. They currently share their building with two restaurants and are situated on the top floor with a spacious balcony.

Tap List Highlights:

Cranberry Jammer Glitter Sour–

In collaboration with the Assault City Roller Derby team, this beer is made with cranberries, orange peels, and a hint of glitter.

Victor Hugo Hop Hash IPA–

This light IPA is made from concentrated lupulin or “hop hash” created in the hop pelletizing process.

Shelagh Blue Milk Stout–

Out of this world stout has notes of sweet white chocolate. Made with coffee, vanilla, spirulina, and milk sugar. Just like Aunty use to make!

While they do specialize in darker beers, my IPA loving self was more than pleased with their selection of beers and diversity between each.

So if you’re ever in Syracuse, go check out Stout Beard Brewing Co. You can check out their website for more information and to see their current tap list.
