Ah, a day in history.  April 7^th, 1933 was the day that President Franklin Roosevelt signed the Cullen-Harrison Act, which allowed people to brew and sell beer in the US as long as it remained below 4.0% ABV (wine included).  The first step towards the end of Prohibition!  For the first time in 13 years, beer drinkers across the nation were celebrating…legally.

A good man by the name of Justin Smith, hailing from Richmond, Virginia named April 7^th National Beer Day and in 2009 made a Facebook page for the holiday.  Ever since then, it spread like wildfire and this holiday is celebrated accordingly.  Beer in hand – whether it’s at your local bar, your house, a brewery, work…you name it, just drink a beer and celebrate!

April 6^th is also New Beer’s Eve, so if you want to start celebrating a day early and work your way into April 7^th, then go right ahead you deserve it!
