National Mojito Day!

July 11, 2019

Oh thank heaven for 7-Eleven!

Happy Free Slurpee Day everyone! Oh, and also, Happy National Mojito Day!  There’s no better way than to cool off on a hot summer day than with a refreshing, minty Mojito.  A cocktail that is far from pretentious, that simply decorates the rum inside of it.

Happy National Piña Colada Day!

It’s National Piña Colada Day!  And I have to say, Piña Coladas are my all-time favorite summer cocktail.  The coconut cream and pineapple juice together with rum transports me to an island where I’m basking in the sun on full-time relaxation mode.

Watermelon Cocktails for the Fourth

Watermelon is one of my favorite ingredients to mix up in a cocktail on a hot, summer day.  And this Fourth of July, I’m bringing you multiple watermelon cocktail recipes to quench the thirst of your party goers!  The juicy sweetness of watermelon lends itself to pretty much any liquor. But my absolute favorite is mixing watermelon with gin. I smash some watermelon in my glass, add gin, a squeeze of lime, top with lime seltzer and boom, you have my very own cocktail at hand, “Dee’s Watermelons.”  I hope you enjoy these festive cocktails this Fourth of July!  Cheers.

Pickled Martinis for National Martini Day!

Wednesday June 19, 2019

For being such a big fan of veggies and all things pickled, I thought it was only appropriate to write about delicious, savory, pickled martinis for National Martini Day.  One of the first pickled martinis I ever had was a fantastic pickled mushroom martini made by my favorite restaurant named Bolete, in Bethlehem Pennsylvania.  The smooth martini, mixed with the pickled umami mushroom flavor was to die for!  Now I order pickled cocktails anywhere I go.
